Why Suboxone Maintenance at Nashville Recovery?
If you struggle with opioid addiction (hydrocodone, oxycodone, OxyContin, fentanyl, heroin, etc) then you know what happens when you stop using: You go into withdrawal and get very sick. Withdrawals can last for weeks or even months, preventing you from going to work, spending time with friends and family and enjoying quality of life.
Even after the withdrawals stop your body is far from back to normal. It is estimated the human body needs up to one full year to restore and rebalance critical chemicals that get depleted due to opioid abuse.
Suboxone can not only eliminate your withdrawals and cravings, it can also allows your body the time and space it needs to chemically rebalance itself, allowing you to feel energetic, balanced and whole again.
In other words, a Suboxone maintenance program at Nashville Recovery can help you to feel normal again.
A Suboxone maintenance program provides both long-term and short-term benefits for those who suffer from the disease of opioid addiction:
- Relief from Withdrawals – Buprenorphine attaches to opioid receptors in the brain, providing relief from withdrawal symptoms and cravings caused in the absence of the drugs you currently use.
- Built-in Ceiling Effect – Buprenorphine's effects are only effective to a certain extent, reducing its potential for misuse. Taking more Suboxone will not provide greater euphoric effects.
- Overdose Prevention – Due to the built-in ceiling effect of buprenorphine, overdose is unlikely when the medication is taken as prescribed by your Suboxone doctor.
- Opioid Blocker – Naloxone is the second ingredient in Suboxone and generic-brand formulas. Naloxone blocks other opioids (hydrocodone, oxycodone, OxyContin, heroin) from attaching and "covering" opioid receptors in your brain, limiting the euphoric effects of typical opioids. Naloxone is so powerful on it's own, it is used in ambulatory services and hospitals world-wide as a near-instant remedy from narcotic overdose.
- Misuse Deterrent – Buprenorphine and naloxone cannot be injected intravenously without causing instant, acute withdrawals.
- Engineered for Living a Normal Life - Suboxone prescriptions are sent directly to your local pharmacy in 7, 14 and 28-day supplies depending on your phase of treatment. Unlike methadone, Suboxone does not require daily or monitored distribution, making it the most convenient outpatient option for people who require a flexible treatment program.
Suboxone Side-Effects People Actually Like
Many people who take Suboxone will tell you that they feel better than they have in years. They feel "normal" again. Here are just a few added benefits that Suboxone may provide for you:
- Restore your appetite
- Increase quality sleep
- Provide an overall feeling of "well being"
- Increase your energy and thinking clarity
- Increase or restore your sexdrive / libido
- Help with digestion and constipation
What is Suboxone Maintenance Like at Nashville Recovery?
A Suboxone maintenance program at Nashville Recovery has three unique phases:
Induction - Your first month of recovery will require weekly visits. Some may be in-person, others may be using telemedicine. Induction is all about transitioning you away from harmful narcotics to the much safer Suboxone medications, minimizing your withdrawals and cravings and moving you into a healthier lifestyle both physically and psychologically. Your doctor and therapist will work as a team to design the ideal Suboxone maintenance program to meet your specific needs and goals.
Stabilization - By end of month one you should be feeling better than you have in a long, long time. With withdrawals gone and cravings minimized, you're now able to think more clearly than you have in a long time. This is when therapy begins playing a larger role of your recovery. Bi-weekly or monthly visits will then be used to monitor your progress and fine-tune your Suboxone maintenance program.
Maintenance - By this time you're most likely feeling better than you have in years. Life is starting to feel normal again. Depending on your progress, bi-monthly appointments may now be the norm. You may begin reducing your daily Suboxone intake or considering a Suboxone taper, which our doctors and therapists will be happy to help you with.
Free Weekly Therapy - Nashville Recovery provides weekly therapy to all active patients at no additional cost, which can be done at the clinic or using telemedicine.
A Suboxone Maintenance Program Means Living a Normal Life Again
Addiction is a disease, not a moral choice. You can have all the willpower or "want to" in the world and still be unable to quit or even reduce your opioid intake. You are not alone! Just like a diabetic needs insulin, people who get addicted to opioids use Suboxone. Maintaining an outpatient Suboxone maintenance program at Nashville Recovery means getting back to living a normal life.
Yes! You can get back to work, get back to your family, back to pursuing all the hobbies, interests and passions you desired before getting addicted. You really can live a normal life again with a Suboxone maintenance program at Nashville Recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Suboxone Work for Fentanyl Users? (and Heroin Laced with Fentanyl)
According to the DEA, fentanyl can be 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine, making it the most potent of synthetic opioids. Currently, there are fake oxycodone pills being illegally manufactured that contain a lethal dose of fentanyl. Nashville Recovery's physicians have established new treatment protocols specifically designed for people who are addicted to fentanyl and/or fentanyl-laced heroin.
How Do I Get Started on Suboxone?
A Suboxone therapy program at Nashville Suboxone Recovery is a team effort that utilizes both a doctor who specializes in addiction, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor / Mental Health Service Professional. Together, they build a unique recovery program combining medications for addiction, depression, anxiety, sleeping disorders, PTSD, ADD, ADHD, etc, along with private therapy. Your recovery program at Nashville Suboxone Recovery will be custom-tailored to help you heal quickly.
What Are the Benefits of Taking Suboxone?
Without getting technical, Suboxone (buprenorphine & naloxone) helps eliminate withdrawals and cravings which occur when someone stops taking heroin or an opioid-based pain medication such as hydrocodone or oxycodone. Suboxone also helps prevent relapse using a blocking agent that minimizes the effects of opioid-based drugs.
Can I Get Suboxone Prescription By Phone or Video Appointment?
Yes. Nashville Suboxone Recovery provides phone & video appointments using telemedicine for current patients, as well as in-person clinic appointments to both new and existing patients. Both in-person and phone/video appointments are used for medical and therapeutic benefits, as well as additional, no cost therapy sessions between clinic visits.
How Much Does Addiction Treatment with Suboxone Cost?
Nashville Suboxone Recovery provides affordable outpatient Suboxone treatment programs to work with most any budget, with or without health insurance. We're open weekdays and every other Saturday to accommodate busy schedules. We provide plenty of discreet parking. Our monthly program consists of one to two doctor visits along with up to four private therapy sessions. The cost is only $350 per month for all six appointments. We also provide everything you need to get reimbursed for all or part of your treatment costs, depending on your health insurance coverage.
Is Nashville Suboxone Recovery a Tennessee State Licensed Addiction Treatment Center
?
Absolutely! Nashville Suboxone Recovery is one of few outpatient addiction treatment centers in Nashville who undergo an annual audit by the State of Tennessee to ensure we meet or exceed state medical requirements for treating addiction and chemical dependency. Our staff includes board certified physicians, MBA-level Mental Health Service Professionals (MHSP's), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC's) and Certified Addiction Therapists. near Nolensville Rd and Old Hickory Blvd. at 5722 Hickory Plaza Drive, Suite C3 in Nashville, TN.
Can I Take Suboxone if I'm Pregnant or Breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you will most likely be prescribed Subutex instead of Suboxone. Subutex (buprenorphine without naloxone) is similar to Suboxone in that it eliminates withdrawals and cravings, but does not contain a blocking agent. You and your doctor will choose the best solutions for your recovery and pregnancy. All female clients are tested for pregnancy at every visit.
Can I Use Suboxone to Detox from Heroin, Oxycodone, OxyContin, Opana, Percocet, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl and other Opioids - Without Missing Work?
In most cases, yes. However, we do recommend having some flexibility with your work schedule when beginning your Suboxone treatment program. Most people transition to Suboxone within 2-3 days of beginning their treatment program. Fentanyl patients may require more time.
Is Suboxone the Only Medication Used to Treat Chemical Dependency?
Suboxone is simply a brand name. There are many other brand name choices as well as generic versions of buprenorphine & naloxone medications available that provide the same relief at often a lower cost. Examples include: Dr. Reddy's films, Alvogen films, Zubsolv tablets, Sublocade injections, many generic tablets and generic sublingual films. We'll even help you find the lowest Suboxone prices in the Nashville area.
Can You Help with Anxiety and Depression?
Yes. We provide dual-diagnosis treatment at no additional cost thanks to our board certified physicians and MHSP therapy staff. Additional therapies and medications may be prescribed in order to treat your anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, sleep disorders, and more.
Is Nashville Suboxone Recovery Open on Saturday?
We are open 1 Saturday per month 10am - 3pm by appointment only. Please check our online schedule.
Can New Clients Get Same-Day Appointments?
Yes! New clients can register for same-day appointments today! The first visit will be in the clinic so we can get you enrolled in one of our programs. Once you are enrolled in one of our programs you can take your appointment without leaving home thanks to our Suboxone by phone and Suboxone by video programs. We've created an entirely web-based system for handling payments, intake documents, doctor visits, and therapy appointments for those with limited transportation who are ready to begin their recovery today.
Can I Really Get Free Suboxone Medication?
Zubsolv™ (which contains the same two chemicals as Suboxone) offers two weeks of free medication to most every new client.* Please ask our doctors for details.
Do You Accept Health Insurance?
Nashville Suboxone Recovery is a self-pay program that provides a very personalized recovery experience. It is our goal to soon accept insurances that allow us to continue our specialized form of treatment.
Our clients receive their monthly doctor visits and four private therapy sessions for only $350 per month. Clients may also opt to pay $200 every two weeks if more suitable. We provide everything necessary for you to get reimbursed for all or part of your treatment costs from your insurance company. Please ask your insurance company about reimbursement prior to your visit.
If you have health insurance, please allow us to file your prior authorization to cover your medication costs before your first appointment.
What if I Don't Have Health Insurance?
No problem! Our self-pay program is less than roughly 1/6th the cost of what many people spend per month on street drugs. Your program will include private appointments with a doctor and therapist for only $350 per month. Suboxone (and all of it's generic equivalents) can be purchased at most local area pharmacies using discount coupons.
